Choosing a baby travel system

Baby Travel SystemDon’t tell my husband, but last time we didn’t choose a baby travel system, we chose a pram. That was the wrong decision. I’ve never admitted it, but that massive wad of money we handed over turned out to be a waste. I hate our pram, and it hates us. I much prefer the flimsy little buggy we bought to go on holiday but I can’t bring myself to tell him. He honestly thinks that the old pram will do us for the next one, so I need to convince him that a baby travel system is the way to go! Wish me luck…

I am the first to admit that I have already spent a small fortune on baby things. But no man can deny a mother a pram for her baby, right? In that case, no man can deny a mother a baby travel system either, right? But how to choose the right one and thus avoid making the same mistakes as last time? There are so many makes and models on the market at the moment that I, for once, just don’t know where to start!

I know I want a baby travel system. I also know that, with a caesarean section already booked, I need a fairly lightweight model too. But what other baby things do I need to go with it? I mean, do I really need additional baby carriages and drinks holders? Or do I just need the basic baby travel system? Aaaagh!

Baby travel systems, from what I can gather, consist mainly of the pushchair, the car seat and a carry cot. But I’m not sure if we need a carry cot. The boy’s pram had one but he could never lie flat due to the reflux so we never used it. We definitely need the car seat but then I’m not sure I’m happy to use that as the pram all the time, especially when the baby is so young. They need a flat surface. So I need a baby travel system with a carry cot then. But which one?! This one from Apollo looks nice and also gets good reviews from parents who’ve bought it.  But I also like the look of this Graco Mosaic Pushchair Travel System. I’ve heard good things about their products and it’s got a 5 star review!

Goodness, this is all new to me. I’m usually an impulse shopper so looking around and agonising over baby things like this is a bit alien to tell the truth. I want to click ‘buy’ but I just can’t. I think I need help! Which baby travel system did you choose?
